La Nueva Alianza Ministry: La Nueva Alianza Ministry began in 1993 when four lay
parishioners of Saint Patrick Old Cathedral, in Lower
Manhattan, New York, felt the need to serve the Lord and the
community. The Ministry began as a catholic music group,
and quickly grew, developing into a prayer, music and
evangelizing ministry. The members each began seeking the
guidance of the pastor of the Church, as well as their
formation in the faith through spiritual retreats and
meditations, Bible Study, Praying the Scriptures, Catechism,
theology classes in the parish, and frequent use of the
Sacraments. Now, the Ministry is not only well involved
in the community through the parish's prayer group, but also
in the life of the Catholic Church. To accomplish its goal of
responding lovingly, willingly, diligently and
faithfully to Pope John Paul II's calling for a new
evangelization, the La Nueva Alianza Ministry now:
1.
Directs spiritual retreats and vigils for all ages in Long
Island, New Jersey, and New York, having the opportunity to
visit Latin America, for example, the Dominican Republic.
2.
Evangelizes, through music and scripture, to the youth and
their family members;
3.
Proclaims the Risen Lord through the radio waves of
"Radio Jesús es el Señor" 93.9 FM Sub in their
weekly program, and;
4.
Seeks, and works for, the conversion, salvation and
sanctification of the media culture and of the world, through
the use of the Internet and other forms of media of social
communication.
La Nueva Alianza Ministry prays and hopes to always give,
through
the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
all Glory to
God our Father, in the name of Jesus our Lord.
